New Menu Tasting At Moomba

A cool thing happened! Last Saturday I was invited to a food tasting event at Moomba Theater organized by Pearls & Sequence. I was invited to sample their new dinner menu. As soon as I found out about it, I was totally excited to go. I haven't been to Moomba in over 5 years and I was curious to see what changes they had made to the menu. I was very impressed when I arrived. I was greeted and escorted to the cocktail area by Pearls & Sequence, where I had the pleasure of meeting a bunch of fellow bloggers. I was introduced to my group of peers and chatted while we were served delicious Mango Martinis ( I highly recommend) and a bunch of little appetizers. We were then invited upstairs to begin the food tasting. We first had a few appetizers starting with cheeseburger dumplings (amazing), oyster shots ( I absolutely love), shrimp dim sum (was new for me but I really liked it), fried calamari (always a winner), and salmon tartare which as you guys must know by now is an absolut must for me. I am very particular about my appetizers. Sometimes I go to a restaurant and opt for a huge bunch of appetizers rather than an actual meal, and I must say that these appetisers were totally superb! The oyster shots and the salmon tartare (obviously haha) were my favorite of the appetizers. Oh! and did I mention that these were all served with a choice of red or white wine. I had white :) When it came time for the main courses we had a choice of New York angus entre-cote, beef short rib, slow roasted osso-bucco, and baked salmon. If you know me you know that I chose the baked salmon (of course haha)! Im a big fan of fish and the baked salmon was everything that I wanted it to be! After the main course was dessert time! Strawberry tiramisu ( a new one for me) and white chocolate cake (yessss)! I can't even decide which one I liked the most, they were both rich and delicious. A perfect end to a perfect meal. My hat is off to you Moomba, you came through terrifically! My only wish is that I had taken better pictures. Please excuse the blurriness in some of the pictures. I really should have brought a better camera. Next time! Thank you Moomba Theater for the fabulous evening and thank you Rashi and Shabbir for the opportunity to be a part of this great event!
